This Is Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio # 968

Our webcast and broadcast woes from last week mutated into new webcast woes this week, but we soldiered on because…all right, I’m not exactly sure why we bothered. Oh, right! Pop music! Its own reward. This week’s rewards included new stuff from Eytan Mirsky, The Jellybricks, Popdudes, Lannie Flowers, Terry Draper, The Ex-Teens, Eric Barao, The Beatpunkers, and Kenny (featuring Anton Barbeau), plus TIRnRR debuts by The Somethings, Intensive Care, and The Swodahs (with our ol’ pal Tommy O’Riley). We wished a Happy Birthday to Herb Alpert, and exulted in the glory of all sortsa fine tracks by everyone from The Doors to The Hollies to Gang Of Four to Earth, Wind & Fire. And we saluted the late Ranking Roger with a barrage of great tracks from our Featured Performers, The English Beat. Our petty little problems can make us forget the damned fleeting nature of our brief time in this world. We have music. We have the will to dance, ranking full stop. We just can’t stop it. Twist and crawl, twist and crawl, twist and crawl. The bad stuff? Save it for later. This is what rock ‘n’ roll radio sounded like on a Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
