Tonight On THIS IS ROCK ‘N’ ROLL RADIO
50 years after the debut of American Top 40 with Casey Kasem, we sorta-kinda have TWO shows for your amazement and amusement. The first two-thirds or so are devoted to free play, our usual rockin’ pop hocus-pocus, with new music from WhistleStop Rock and The VaVaVoodoos alongside our prerequisite mojo. But then we close the show with COUNTDOWNS! Yep, we’re gonna celebrate TIRnRR‘s little mutant history from 1998 to now by rattling off our 10 all-time most-played artists and our 10 all-time most played tracks. Dana & Carl? Sure. But tonight, I’m Casey, and he’s Kasem. Between free play and countdowns, we’ll hear The Kinks, The Yum Yums, Prince, The Go-Go’s, The Ramones, The Monkees, Eytan Mirsky, The Bevis Frond, The Pretenders, Dr. Feelgood, KISS, Sam and Dave, Iggy Pop, The Muffs, The Everly Brothers, and many more. Which ones are free play and which ones are from the countdowns? The best way to find out is Sunday night, 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, http://sparksyracuse.org/
